At First Baptist, we are a people with a purpose: to share a living God with a dying world! Our mission statement declares that we are:

To FULFILL the Great Commission by leading others to faith in Jesus Christ (Mt 28:19-20), to EQUIP believers to serve (2 Tim 3:16-17), to BUILD relationship within the church body to create unity and love (Acts 2:42), to REACH our community and the world with the transforming Gospel and a Christ-like concern for all people (Acts 1:8).

THE SCRIPTURES

We believe that the Bible is our ultimate source of authority, the application of which is essential
for the transformation of our lives.

SALVATION

We believe in salvation by faith in Jesus Christ who died on the cross as the substitute for our sin.

WORSHIP

We believe that the ultimate priority of Christ's followers is to personally and corporately worship the

PRAYER

We believe that prayer is our most fundamental demonstration of dependence upon the Lord and,
therefore, is essential to fruitful ministry.

MINISTRY

We believe that all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are to use their God-given gifts, talents, and
abilities in ministry to others.

GIVING

We believe that believers are to financially support the ministry according to the resources God
has entrusted to them.

BODY OF CHRIST

We believe that spiritual growth cannot occur outside the context of meaningful relationships
with other believers.

PEOPLE

We believe that all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are to follow His example in building redemptive
relationships with the lost.

LEADERSHIP

We believe in the critical value of Godly character, personal integrity, ministry skill, and relational
health in leadership at all levels of ministry.

We believe in the regular evaluation of all facets of our ministry in order to achieve our purpose

We believe in communicating the life-changing message of the Scriptures in culturally relevant
